What's in store?

Reporting to the Marketing Manager – Brand & Campaigns,this role will bring a high calibre of marketing support and expertise to the marketing team.

The primary responsibility of this role is to own, manage and develop the Hollywood Bowl Group’s (HBG) support for its bowling centre/mini golf teams and to implement tactical campaign activity to support the retail calendar and national marketing plan.


This role will proactively manage and execute effective marketing campaigns on HBG’s behalf to its customers, team members, customers and consumers.


You will be expected to work within agreed financial budgets and time deadlines and to demonstrate sound marketing expertise, commercial acumen and a strong customer service ethic.


The key responsibilities of the Marketing Executive include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Marketing Manager – Brand & Campaigns in the implementation of the national marketing plan and retail calendar, supporting campaigns, key trading dates and local centre initiatives

  • Own the marketing support for one or more category area, from: Bowling, food & drink, amusements and mini-golf

  • Support the launch of new initiatives either nationally or to local markets, e.g. new centre openings, rebrands

  • Monitor the effectiveness, measure and report on marketing activities

  • Demonstrate sound commercial awareness throughout marketing activities

  • Support the Marketing Manager – Brand & Campaigns with the implementation and maintenance of marketing information systems to support the business

  • Support centre teams and regional teams with tactical marketing initiatives for attraction/engagement/retention of customers, administering requests from centres using marketing support systems and using marketing expertise

  • Support the Marketing Manager – Brand & Campaigns to manage relationships with key suppliers to KPI’s, including creative agencies, print and print management, PR, Media, merchandise, graphic designers, AV and experiential

  • Identify and champion opportunities to enhance customer experience

  • Represent the marketing team for selected HBG projects

  • Create, develop and manage marketing assets, including writing copy for different audiences and channels, collateral creations, POS, video, digital images, social media content

  • Ensure timely, relevant and accurate content is maintained across channels for all customer groups, e.g. website, intranet, POS, eComms, in-centre screens and music

  • Ensuring prices are recorded accurately and timely and are communicated effectively

  • Give brand guidance support for digital marketing including web, social media and CRM

  • Keep accurate records of costs and ROI across all marketing activities you are involved in

  • Responsible for the accurate recording of costs and invoices against the central marketing budget

What's required?

It’s essential that you can work in a fast-paced environment, work within agreed financial budgets and time deadlines and can demonstrate sound marketing expertise, commercial acumen and a strong customer service ethic, as well as:

  • Excellent MS Office 2010 and earlier - skills must include excellent proficiency of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • CIM Professional Certificate level or be working towards/Marketing Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of broad marketing experience across the marketing mix
  • Able to develop and work effectively to project plans, deadlines and budgets
  • Managing quality and effective output from marketing suppliers
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness
  • Excellent customer service skills with colleagues and other team members at all levels
  • Creates a positive energy for the team and organisation
  • Able to work autonomously, self-manage and prioritise tasks
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge in Marketing communications, Copy writing and editing, Campaign management, Time management and Project management
